Eldens Fresh Foods

On the most part I like Eldens. Good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits. But the last few times we have been there, they have a very rude, short tempered lady that works as the self service area. She is of no help to anyone except throwing out nasty barbs at the customers. The staff at Cub Foods in the self check out are very helpful and always cheerful and have wonderful customer relations skills. Perhaps she needs some customer relations training. Most of the staff at Elden's are pretty helpful. I always say if you work in a customer relations service and you don't like your job, perhaps you should find a different one where you don't have to work with people.

If you want the best and freshest produce in town come to Eldon's. Other than the farmers market where we have local produce the best freshest top-of-the-line produce comes from Eldon's in Alexandria. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. The meat selection is fresher than the other grocery stores. It compares to Lake Country Meats.

Bad experience. I visited here from out of town and came in to get some groceries. The lady running the self checkout was unpleasant. There were only two lanes open with it being extremely busy , so we decided to go to self checkout. She looks at our cart and says this is for 20 items or less and tells us we cannot ring up there . We wait in line for 15 minutes to finally be rung up as the self checkouts remain empty. One woman is there and it's clear she has 30 + items. We finish the transaction, leave and look at the receipt and see that we actually only had 18 items. Unreal . Never returning here

They have fresh produce and it is a nice store. I don't go there anymore as their employees don't seem to care enough about us to wear masks. Some customers wear them.

Figured i'd give them a review for people not from here of familiar since I go here often and never receive bad service.First off the staff are always cheery, talkative and helpful. Its mostly traditional bagging with a couple of self service. Always appreciated. To me self checkout can get you out quicker in say walmart but theres times I personally very much appreciate it.Two their bakery foods and selection are one of a kind. I personally think their donuts are the best i've ever had. I don't want to go on too long describing a donut i'd just say you'd have to try one from there. Last but not least their meat selection is superb with meat from seafood, yes lobster, fish etc to lamb and everything in between. And in smaller packages which is super helpful if you're not a family of four that wants more variety then mainstream hamburger and chicken. And then theres the fresh fruit selection. Such a wide variety and the utmost freshness. Theres also plenty of weekly sales for bargain shoppers such as myself to be more then satisfied with especially when they're displayed so well inside the store.

Fantastic Supermarket in Alex and while I do not live there, I always stop when down for grandson's hockey games and tournaments. So clean and fresh and I love the darker muted color scheme. Fresh produce is such a bonus and always excellent, and also I stock up on hard to find items that I do not have at home. The only slight miss is that they do not stock my favorite Greek yoghurt

Great location and parking, and if in Alex, you can't go wrong by stocking up at Elden's. I much prefer going here for snacks and lunch and picnic items as fast food gets so boring when in towns on the hockey circuit

Elden's is a real plus for the town of Alex..

Very nice store. You can see the quality when you walk in...Lots of selection and friendly staff. Reminds me of a Hy-Vee if you're from a town that has them, you'll know what I mean. Nice layout and it looks super nice inside. Plus, I like the colors.
